The Topless Review was originally an attempt to keep a record of all the celebrity uncoverings that occur in Newspapers, Magazines, and on Television in the current year. However in more recent years coverage of Newspapers has fallen away due to a combination of reduced awareness of anything of relevance and seemingly less instances of what used to be a fairly frequent event. Magazines even more so.

Therefore it is only now the Television section that retains any concerted effort to be as comprehensive as possible.

Although the first episode was shown on the final day of 2012, it is primarily a 2013 series and so is fully listed here

ep1: I Need A Light
J Sarah Gallagher (Maude Thwaites) - topless laying dead in a Victorian police cell during an impromptu autopsy conducted by surgeon Homer Jackson (Adam Rothenberg) whilst Detective Inspector Edmund Reid (Matthew MacFadyen) and Chief Inspector Fred Abberline (Clive Russell) disagree over whether or not she is a new victim of Jack The Ripper • topless in a nascent B&W pornographic moving picture film in which she is being seduced by a sheik, played by Sir Arthur Donaldson, in which he proceeds to really throttle her to death - shown by the depraved Donaldson (Mark Dexter) to petrified prostitute Rose Erskine (Charlene McKenna) with whom he intends to do the same next.
J Charlene McKenna (Rose Erskine) - topless in a B&W photo in series of saucy snapshots being flicked through by Captain Homer Jackson (Adam Rothenberg) as he asks her who took the photos hoping it will provide a lead in an ongoing murder investigation • her right breast is briefly seen out of her slave girl top as she lays on a bed in a dazed and confused state as depraved Victorian pornographer Sir Arthur Donaldson (Mark Dexter) prepares to kill her dressed as a roman emperor while his accomplice Cecil Creighton (Julian Bleach) films the proceedings with a nascent moving image camera.

ep8: What Use Our Work
J Rebecca Grimes (Streetwalker) - topless laying on a slab in the police station dead room after her postmortem as Chief Inspector Fred Abberline (Clive Russell) and Detective Inspector Edmund Reid (Matthew MacFadyen) contend their views on whether she is a ripper victim and if Reid's surgeon Homer Jackson is her killer • topless again on the slab as Jackson (Adam Rothenberg) examines her to find evidence that will clear him of her murder. She was seen alive in the prior episode.

Silent Witness (BBC1 - part2:11/01/2013) Series 16, ep: "Change" (2-part story)
J Anna Brewster (Deanna Collier) - topless on her back laying dead on an autopsy table as pathologist Leo Dalton (William Gaminara) takes some initial blood samples for DNA analysis • later topless as Professor Dalton takes further samples from her body and makes preliminary external observations - then topless as her body is cleaned of some light mud residue and made ready for the postmortem to begin. She is seen alive in part 1.

World Without End (C4 - starting 12/01/2013) 6-part series

J Charlotte Riley (Caris Wooler) - her right breast is seen while sleeping in bed when repressed monk Brother Godwyn (Rupert Evans) sets aside the top of her night attire and fondles her breast - seen in close-up with her face not in the same shot - could be a body double.
J Indira Varma (Mattie Wise) - topless while tied to a stake during a public outdoor witch trial when Friar Murdo (John Rado) opens her dress to look for a telltale blemish which he maintains would show her to have the mark of the devil and prove her to be a witch - her face is not in the same shot - could be a body double.

Episode 3 (26/01/2013)
J Sarah Beck Mather (Annet) - topless (with initially some distant full frontal nudity) washing in a lake with some other young village women as they gossip about men and she makes a mocking remark about the oppressive Lord Ralph's unremarkable manhood unaware that the very same Lord Ralph Fitzgerald (Oliver Jackson-Cohen) has chanced upon the gathering while out hunting with his squire Alan Fernhill (Ivan Fenyo) and has overheard her humiliating assessment as they voyeuristically watch the women bathe from the trees - then distant full frontal nudity as she comes out of the water after her friends have departed and starts getting dressed when she is set upon by Ralph who brutally rapes her for her injudicious insolence whilst Fernhill holds her down.

(part1) J Freya Parker (Mary Smith) - topless laying dead on an autopsy table as pathologist Dr Nikki Alexander (Emila Fox) carries out a postmortem examination - her belly is swollen and it is possible the breasts seen could be part of a prosthetic. She is briefly seen alive in flashbacks.
(part2) J Bryony Afferson (Petra Smith) - topless laying dead on an autopsy table in an empty lab where she has been placed awaiting a forthcoming postmortem when thought-to-be dead scientist Lucas Ballinger (Bryan Dick) staggers into the room in a dazed state after regaining consciousness - later topless on the table as pathologist Professor Leo Dalton (William Gaminara) begins the examination. She is seen alive in part 1.

Dancing On The Edge (BBC2 - part2:05/02/2013; part4:18/02/2013) 5-part serial
J Janet Montgomery (Sarah) - (part 2) her right nipple appears to be very briefly glimpsed as she and jazz band leader Louis Lester (Chiwetel Ejiofor) make love holding each other close as they lay on their sides such that the proximity of their bodies propitiously keeps her breasts mostly hidden except at one point when her right arm moves down marginally too much as she caresses his chest while they kiss • (part 4) topless making love on a bed with Louis astride his lap facing him as they kiss - then topless as she lays back on the bed - then topless as she gets off the bed when her maid calls out that she has a visitor downstairs.

Mr Selfridge (ITV - ep7:17/02/2013) 10-part series
J Katherine Kelly (Lady Mae Loxley) - the side of her right breast is seen as she kneels forward in bed and bids her working class lover Victor Colleano (Trystan Gravelle) to fetch a telegram that her servant has slid under the bedroom door - her supporting arm and long hair hide her nipple.

Shameless (C4 - ep1:26/02/2013; ep2:05/03/2013; ep7:09/04/2013) Series 11 (14 episodes) [final series]
J Sue Vincent (Derilee) - (ep1) topless astride her client Frank Gallagher (David Threlfall) on a bed providing sexual services while holding a can of furniture polish suggestively between her breasts as she talks about her cleaning obsession with her call girl cohort Sherilee (Sarah Totty) • (ep2) topless with tassels as Frank paints her breasts red after-hours in an art classroom at the school where he works as a caretaker.
Also in episode 1 was a young woman flashing her breasts for a photographer during a municipal opening ceremony - she was uncredited and non-speaking but looked to be the same girl who has done an uncredited topless bit-part on Shameless before (playing an uncredited hen party girl in ep8.18 in 2011). Her name may be Faye Jenelle.
J Thaila Zucchi (PC Randall) - (ep7) topless side view with her right breast seen as she takes her bra off in front of her boyfriend Shane (Nicky Evans) in an empty backstage marquee at a music festival, when she acquiesces to his preference to have normal straightforward sex rather than engaging in the aberrant propensities she normally dictates upon their carnal assignations which he has found increasingly off-putting - no nipple nudity seen.

Labyrinth (C4 - ep1:30/03/2013) 2-part drama
J Jessica Brown Findlay (Alais Pelletier Du Mas) - topless as she sits up in bed beside her still sleeping husband Guilhem (Emun Elliott) - then rear nudity as she gets out of bed and puts on an underdress.
J Katie McGrath (Oriane Congost) - laying on her front over a bed with the side of her left breast seen swinging as her sister's husband Guilhem (Emun Elliott) makes love to her from behind - then topless as she stands when he has finished - then she lays on her back talking to him as he dresses with her right breast seen although with the nipple covered by tresses of her hair • rear nudity and brief side of her left breast seen as she takes off her wrap in a stable and stands naked in front of Guilhem while scheming to coerce his cooperation in furthering her ambitions - scene is a bit dark.

The Village (BBC1 - ep1:31/03/2013) 6-part drama
J Charlie Murphy (Martha Lane) - very brief rear nudity seen as she steps into a bath in a women's bathhouse - seen from a very high angle as young boy Bert Middleton (Bill Jones) peeks down through a gap in the low slate roof - her face is not properly seen.

Prisoners' Wives (BBC1 - ep4:04/04/2013) Series 2 (4 episodes)
J Karla Crome (Aisling) - laying on her back in bed kissing with her boyfriend Matt (Harry McEntire) with her left breast briefly seen.

The Syndicate (BBC1 - ep5:16/04/2013) Series 2 (6 episodes)
J Elizabeth Tan (Sulim) - topless and rear nudity as she takes off her negligee in a bedroom in front of lottery winner Alan (Mark Addy) who met her via a Thai brides website - at first he is delighted by what he sees until he looks further down (out of shot) and is aghast to discover she is not all woman - her face is not seen is a continuous shot and is a likely body double.

The Politician's Husband (BBC2 - ep2:02/05/2013) 3-part drama
J Anamaria Marinca (Dita) - topless and rear nudity as she comes into the bathroom of the household where she works as a live-in nanny for the children of MP's Aiden and Freya Hoynes, and takes off her dressing gown in front of an astonished Aiden (David Tennant) who is taking an early morning bath after his wife has left for work, where she offers herself to him thinking he secretly desires her - then she gathers her robe and shamefacedly rushes from the room when she discovers she has completely misread the situation.
